On Wednesday 4 March the Scottish Parliament approved the draft Census Order. NRS welcome the agreement by Parliament and are committed to delivering a set of questions and associated guidance which enables all of Scotland to access, understand and complete the census.
Scotland’s Census 2021 are holding events in Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow to discuss current plans for outputs, and further develop our plans.
These events will cover derived variables, the release schedule for outputs, UK harmonisation and plans for updating our Scotland’s Census website.
You can find out more about these events and how to book yourself a place on our Events and Workshop page.
Today the Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs Committee recommended that the draft Census Order be approved by the Scottish Parliament, allowing it to move to the next stage in the parliamentary process. We are grateful to the Committee for their careful consideration of the draft Census Order. NRS is committed to delivering a set of questions and associated guidance which enables all of Scotland to access, understand and complete the census.
Do you use census data? If so, we need your help! National Records of Scotland (NRS) is working alongside Storm ID to explore the needs and requirements of those who use or would like to use census data. People are at the heart of this work, and we want to understand your experiences to help us create an improved experience for users of the census outputs website.
Please help us by completing this survey which shouldn't take longer than 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The survey will be open until 13 March 2020 for responses.
