We recently published our ‘Plans for Scotland’s Census 2021' which lay out proposals for how the census will be conducted and the questions it will ask. Alongside this, our topic reports detail the research and testing we have done in our question development. The census will continue to collect information on housing, families and individuals in Scotland that is vital to help shape Scotland's future.
Following the publication of our Plans for Scotland’s Census 2021, we are holding events in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow to present our proposals for the questions that Scotland’s Census 2021 will ask.
These events will update users about our on-going programme of question and outputs development.
You can find out more about these events and how to book yourself a place on our Events and Workshop page.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) is responsible for conducting the census in Scotland and planning is well underway for Scotland’s Census 2021.
As part of our preparations NRS is producing a comprehensive directory of addresses including detailed information on Communal Establishments (CE). These are managed residential accommodation where there is full-time or part-time supervision of the accommodation.
